Fresh Air, Good Friends, and Great Views at Loch Raven

The Loch Raven Reservoir is a beautiful spot to go hiking, fishing, kayaking, and see some beautiful views! It’s located just north of Baltimore, so it is the perfect spot for Loyola students to visit if they want to get outside and get some fresh air. Not to mention the reservoir plays a huge role in providing drinking water for Baltimore.  The reservoir is open daily from sunrise to sunset and offers countless activities for people of all ages. Many people go there for hiking and visit one of their most popular trails, Merryman’s Mill Trail. This trail is popular because of the scenic views along the trail. Other’s visit the reservoir to fish, and the reservoir is home to various species such as largemouth bass, yellow perch, northern perch, and so many more!  While the reservoir offers many activities, it also is a beautiful place to sit back and relax.
